1. Introduction

Would you like to make a few hundred dollars a day just by simply playing on your computer and investing some money? ... Well, it is possible with this software.

Like all investments, there is always an amount of risk. How do you reduce this amount of risk as you invest in racing?

The amount of risk is reduced by knowledge and information. With this in mind, we can make an informed decision and act accordingly. This is why intending investors go to professionals for advice, such as stockbrokers, real estate agents and developers or bankers. It is the professionals, with their industry knowledge and experience, who are successful and enjoy substantial monitory gains.

This advantage is now available to you with this program.

This software is an investment program. It helps you to make decisions of investment in racing by reducing wrong guesses.

This software utilises Internet technology and expert system to track all the professional activity of the racing experts, and actions of the professionals when they invest. The information is delivered LIVE.

It is live money tracking system. It allows users to view all the latest money flows for 3 TAB's and makes betting easy.

This program provides you with complete access to the horse, harness and greyhound racing industry. This is made possible via the Internet, through connections to the TAB.

This software program utilizes modern technology and superior programming to source the professional activity of the racing fraternity and can present it to you, as it happens in an easily understandable format. In other words, it is accessing the monitory movements of the professionals as they invest.

This program is LIVE updating these activities and allows you to follow the investments by professionals.

It automatically downloads live data from TAB every 30 seconds, analyzes data by mathematical modeling, and predicts winner. It can show 3 windows of NSW, Vic and Qld TAB in the same screen. It runs in Windows online in real-time.  It automatically calculates how much you should bet on which runner by Dutch Book for win, place, or combinations of win and place.

You should register with your software ID on top tile bar of the program and email address to set up your account in Internet server when you first time run it. This software needs to automatically logon to Internet server for live data.

2. How do Investment Programs Work?

2.1 Past Performance Programs

There are many of these programs available. They are based on historical information about particular runners in particular events. The information is based on breeding, past performance, trainers, connections, prize money, etc. This information is usually presented in a tabulated or graphic form to assist in selecting the outcome of an event.

This information is usually delivered 24 to 48 hours before the time of the start of the race. But many factors may arise in those 24 to 48 hours. The factors will affect the outcome or result. These factors include weather changes,
scratching, rider changes, dividend changes, etc.

In this case, these programs predict the result of an event from these
old information, and the investor hopes that the prediction will make the investment return a profitable dividend. But the investment return is usually not satisfied.

2.2 Online Programs

This is where the RacePrediction program has a clear advantage. The information gathered is continually LIVE updated directly from the TAB every 30 seconds.

2.3 The RacePrediction Program Works

The RacePrediction program uses math modeling methods, expert system and Internet techniques, and does not rely on historical data or guesswork.
The program simply monitors the movement of monies through the TAB and updates this activity, constantly, until the event is just about to close. This leaves the investor enough time to make a qualified decision of investment. By following the indicators on most events, investors can safely follow the professionals, and make substantial gains.

3. Benefits of This Program

This program is different from other investment software program. Its benefits include:

·         You are provided with live data from TAB sources.

·         Information from all TAB displayed in the same manner is easy to understand.

·         When you make decisions, the TAB online facilities make investment placement incredibly easy.

·         Easy to use. You only take a short time to be become a proficient investor.

·         Show total and market dollar invested on market.

·         Save data in Excel spreadsheet format (also text format), and read data back for review offline.

·         Automatically download all races on background if you have a tick on ALL ON LIST submenu.

·         The bet section shows 5 types of bets: win, Dutch, multi-places, place, and win + place. It not only shows how much you should bet on which runners, but also predicts how much return you get.

·         Sort a column of data by click.

·         Select horse or harness or greyhound.

·         Show the same race in three states TAB to compare prediction and dividends at returning a higher dividend.

4. Before Start

There are some steps involved in setting up before run this program, for example, Internet Service Provider (ISP) settings, and setting up your online TAB accounts. How to apply these settings? Outline is as follows.

4.1 Internet Setup

Please choose your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Your Internet connection must be fast and reliable. The connection to the Internet is the lifeblood of the program. Without it, the program cannot deliver reliable information. Some ISPs block some web addresses, so this program has some problems to run with some ISP, e.g. Free Online, Go Connect, etc.

A Cable or ADSL connection is more suitable than a dial-up connection.

4.2 Adjusting Computer Time

You should adjust your computer time before you run the program every time. Please download Internet timer AboutTime from http://www.arachnoid.com/abouttime/index.html. Install and run it. Click on the “Set Time” button to adjust your computer time.

4.3 Opening Internet Betting Accounts

It is suggested that you should bet on non-TAB’s an Internet betting account, e.g. http://www.international-allsports.com.au or www.IAS.com.au. Otherwise dividends on TAB will drop if too many bet on the same runner.

5. Program Usage

There are different methods of using the RacePrediction program. The following pages in this section will lead you through the basic steps of operating this program. If you follow these basic steps, you will have a good success rate.

5.1 Installing the Program

Double click on the setup.exe file. Please uninstall old version before install new version.

5.2 Running the Program

Click on the Start menu in Windows 95/98/2000, then the Program menu, then the RacePrediction menu, and finally the RacePrediction program to run the program.

5.3 Registration

When you first time start the program, you will get "Logon Error: Invalid ID". It will pop up a registration form in a web page. If not, please click on http://www.drhuang.com/race/logon_error.asp to pup up it. Please fill in the form, and then click the SEND button to registration. You need to logon to Internet server for live data. So you should register with your software ID to set up your account. Your software ID shows in the title bar on the top of the program.

5.4 Internet Connection by Proxy

If you use a proxy server to connect to Internet, you should check the check box and type in your proxy server address and port number in the Internet Connection submenu of the Options menu. Restart the program.

5.5 Changing Time

Since version 2.2.47, you do not need to change the program time any more. It will stop prediction at the 0:30-minute mark just before bets close. So you have 30 second to bet. If you think this is not enough, you have choice to change the program time. So you will have more time to make decision of investment, for example, 100 seconds. Click the “Change Time” menu, click the “NSW Time” submenu to open a “Change Time” window, type 100 into the field, and click the OK button. Exit the program and then restart it. Because the change of time does not take affect until restart the program. Do the same for other states.

If your time zone is different from the track time zone, you must change the program time. For example, you are in Queensland and want to bet on NSW TAB. If the Queensland time zone is one hour earlier than the Sydney  time zone, you should change the program time to 1 hour earlier, by typing 3600 into the time field. Click the “setup” menu, and then the “change time” menu, put 3600 into the time field, and then click OK.  Because 1 hour x 60 minutes x 60 seconds = 3600 seconds. If you are in Perth, as your time zone is 2 hours later than the Sydney track time zone,  you should type -7200 into the time field. Restart the program. You should see the MY TIME in the Meeting List window is close to your time.

You do not need to change your computer system time if you change the program time. Otherwise you can change computer time. Change of computer time will affect all states TAB while change of the program time affect a state TAB that you change only.

5.6 Opening a Meeting List Window

Click on the NSW submenu of the RUN menu to open a NSW race meeting list window. The meeting list window will appear at the front. If not, please select from the RUN menu. Tick the Auto Select checkbox to auto download all races on the list on background. Untick it to stop auto download all races data. Click on the Show All submenu to show all races.

You can sort the races based on any column simply by clicking on the column heading.

This version of the program predicts races in NSW, Vic and Qld TAB. It is a good idea to watch the same race in these three states TAB to compare prediction and dividends at returning a higher dividend.

It only shows the races that will start in 20 minutes, and auto updated.

5.7 Opening Race Windows

There are two ways to open race windows.

1. If you have a tick on the Auto Select checkbox to auto download all races on background, you can have all data even when you open a race window before 20 minutes of race start. For a while, then click on the Show All submenu of the Window menu to show all races.

2. Click on a race of the meeting list to open a Race window. The Race window is divided into five sections.

The left upper section is a race detail section, e.g. a table of the runner number, the name of runners, dividends for each runner, etc. The first column of the table is the runner number. The second column is the runner name. Next eight columns are labeled 4:00, 3:00, 2:30, 2:00, 1:30, 1:00, 0:30, 0:00. These number marks in column header are down count minutes to race start. The third column is WIN dividend on 4:00 minutes before race starts. The fourth column is Win dividend on 3:00 minutes before race starts, and so on. The 0:00 mark is race start. As the race time gets closer, each of these columns will fill with the win dividends for each runner. The dividends for the scratching runners will appear as scr. The next column is the Market $, the current amount of dollar invested on market at that minute. It will be updated every download. The next column of TOTAL $ is the total amount of dollar invested on market. The TOTAL $ will be updated every download. The last eight columns labeled 4:00, 3:00, 2:30, 2:00, 1:30, 1:00, 0:30, 0:00 are the Place dividends at that minute. As the race time gets closer, each of these columns will be filled with the Place dividends. The predicted top 4 runners are highline in different colors. The green is the predicted first runner, the yellow is the predicted second runner, the pink is the predicted third runner, and the red is the predicted fourth runner. Click on a column of the table to sort by that column.

The left lower section is a picture of the predicted top 4 runners. These runners may be updated every download.

The right upper section is the bet section. The bet section shows 5 types of bets: win, Dutch, multi-places, place, and win + place. The first column is top 4 runners number. The second column is score. The third column is the win (and place) for win bet. The fourth column is Dutch Book for win bet. The fifth column is multi-place bet. The sixth column is a place bet. The third and sixth columns are win + place bets. Total bet amount of Dutch, multi-place, or win + place is $10 by default. If the 4 multi-bets make profit, then the predicted 4 runners show up how much you should bet on which runner. Otherwise if the 3 multi-bets make profit, then the predicted 3 runners show up how much bet on which runner. Otherwise if the 2 multi-bets make profit, then the predicted 2 runners show up how much bet on which runner. You can choose Dutch select top 1, 2, 3, or 4 from the Invest window under the Setting menu. The last line shows the return amount if one of them gets win or place.  The last row under the Win column is the return of win, under the Dutch column is the return of any win, under the multi-place column is the return of two places, and under the Place column is the return of the place.

The right middle section is information about a race. The first and second lines are the race meeting and the race number. The third and fourth lines are date and time. The Local Time is the race start time on your computer time while the Track Time is the race start time on the racetrack time. If you change the program time, you should see difference between the Local Time and the Track Time. The fifth and sixth line are the track, weather and the number of runners. The next lines are win pool, place pool, etc.

The right lower section is the result from TAB. The result may delay in a few minutes.

You can sort the runners based on any column simply by clicking on the column heading. Also, you can click and drag the column headings to rearrange their positions.

You can save the races to files in the Excel spreadsheet format (also text format) by clicking on the Save menu. After save, it auto close the Race window. You can read the race file back by the Open menu.

You can open as many Race windows as you like. Once you have finished tracking the event and no longer require the Race window, you should close it in order to save computer resources.

5.8 Making Investment

Click on the Bet menu to invest online through the TAB website. Or call TAB.

Follow one of 5 types of bets: win, Dutch, multi-place, place, and win + place in the bet section of the race window.

5.9 Review Races

You can review races if you save races into files. Save or move the race file into the RacePrediction directory, click on the File menu, then the Open menu, select the file you want.

When you open file and want to view race, sometimes day and month swap as it reads files into database because Microsoft made error to use American date format for Australian date format in database. E.g. If your race is today 6/5/2005, after you open the file, you may click on June 5 to show races. If you races are after 13th of month, it may be correct format after open files. Sorry. It is out of my control.

6. Criteria

Criteria 1: Dollar on the Bet section.

The right upper section on the Race window is the Bet section. It shows how much you should bet on which runner. You can change criteria by the Invest sub-menu of the Setup menu.

Criteria 2: Number of Runners.

·         Invest on races with 8 to 10 runners when the No. Of RUNNERS color becomes green.

·         Not payment for 3rd runner if there are less than 8 runners, except for 7 runners only if there is a late scratching.

Criteria 3: Pools.

·         Do not invest when the pools are too small as win pool color becomes red.

Criteria 4: Amount of Money Invested at the 0:30-Minute Mark.

·         Look at the top 4 runners with Total $ amounts.

·         Look at the top 4 runners with the Market $ that is invested in market.

·         Follow the top 4 runners to make a decision for less risk.

Criteria 5: Dividends.

·         The place bet is less risk than the win bet. The place dividend determines the place bet.

·         Be careful to invest on a runner if its place dividend is less than $1.50.

Criteria 6: All State TAB.

All states TAB should predict the same runner. Or add points over 3 TAB, Dutch Book for multi-win top 3 picks, or on the top pick, minimum 150% return.

7. Strategies

7.1 Strategy 1: Trial

During your Trial Period, watch, make notes, and do your analysis. Don't be too quick to get in the market. It is suggested that you try this program in Trial Period before you feel confident enough to put your skill into practice. By saving and keeping records of your practice, you can go back at a later date to check them again.

7.2 Strategy 2: Set a Limit

Look after your bank. Don't be greedy. Set a goal for every day, both up and down. Decide on a limit for betting each day, it could be 5% or 10% of your bank. Stick to this betting limit. As your bank increases, so does the amount you bet each day. When you suffer a loss, using this percentage method you will reduce the amount you bet. Say, set 10% of your bank account balance on this morning aside for play today, which is your bottom line to lose. E.g. if your bank balance on this morning is $1000, you set $100 aside for play today. Every time you bet $10. If you win $400 today, your bank account balance is $1400, so you can set $140 aside for play next day. Trying to cover your losses with low dividend races will always put pressure on your bank and you'd end up spending far more than the target you are chasing.

If you cannot afford to bet the right way on a particular race, then don't bet at all. Wait for the races that have the value, then have your bet. If you are wrong, you don't run out of funds before you get a winner.

7.3 Strategy 3: Find the Qualified Race

The first thing is to find the qualified race that you would want to bet in.

It would have to have about 8 runners.
It would have to have a value to win of better than $2 per runner to be able to have the profitable bet.

Whatever your outlay would have to return a profit. Why do you have a bet if you're still going to lose on a dividend that pays less than what you wagered even when you get the winner?

Ignore races that are Not Recommended, e.g. races as "No. Of RUNNERS" or WIN POOL color becomes red.
Only seriously consider Horse and Trot races with about 8 runners and Greyhounds with big win pool. It may be easier to get the winner in small races, but the dividends are usually small.

These few easy strategies would at least eliminate most unprofitable races.

7.4 Strategy 4: Only Bet on Profitable Race

Only bet you have a better chance of making money.

Please notice that a lot of races throughout the day would be unprofitable or unqualified. If you like the dogs and trots, then you would be lucky to have a bet at all some days as these dividends can sometimes be low.

Most punters will bet on every race. They are conditioned to bet this way because they lose more often than win, and have to try to catch up on the next bet.

7.5 Strategy 5: Dutch Book or Multi-bet

A Dutch Book is when you back more than one runner for the win and cover your outlay on the other losing runners.

The more runners you back, the bigger your bank would have to be. Usually, rules are as follows.
If you bet 2 horses for a win, make sure all are paying better than $2 to make money.
If you bet 3 horses for a win, make sure all are paying better than $3 to make money.
If you bet 4 horses for a win, make sure all are paying better than $4 to make money.
If you pick one runner, it would have to pay $2.00 or better to make money.

If you take two runners the winner has to pay $3.00 or better.

If you take three runners the winner would have to pay $4.00 or better to make a profit.

If you must back a short odds horse, use the Dutch Book system. So if your first pick is paying $2 and the other two $3.50 and $5.50, you'd have to put something like 37 units on the first pick, 13 units on second pick and 7 units on the third, just to make $10. Whereas three horses paying $3.50, $9.50 and $21.00, the equation is dramatically different. The units would be 6, 2 and 1, respectively. This program calculates how much you should bet on which runner by total $10 and how much return.

To make a profit in any race, the object is to pick the winner, which has a value, or dividend greater than the total amount that you will invest. Otherwise, why would you have a bet when you know you will still lose? EVEN YOU GET THE WINNER! For example, you put each $1 to win on two horses (total $2), which are paying $1.70 and $1.90, respectively. Even if you pick the winner, you've lost! It's stupid. But most of the general public bet on this way every time that they have a bet. You have to eliminate these races.

To win by using this Dutch Book system, you need a much larger bank than most day-to-day punters have to play with. And if you have a couple of losses in a row, the target is soon beyond the bank. And those races that you could bet in to get your money back, e.g. with a minimum value of $3 or greater for the win, those would again eliminate a fair percentage of the races for the day.

How often do you get a race where no horses pay under $4? Not many, but the pay out on quinellas, exactas and trifectas are usually very good.

This program shows how much you should bet on which runner of top 4 or 3 or 2 runners by total $10 bet and how much return by Dutch or multi- place. Any of the runners will return the same income if one of the runners gets win or place. You will have double return if two runners get place. So the multi place is a good idea.

7.6 Strategy 6: Bet Double Amount on Double Return

Decide your betting limit each day, e.g. $200. Find the race with payment over double return, e.g. dividend is over $2. First bet is $10, second bet is $20 if you lost last time, third bet is $40 if you lost last time, and fourth bet is $80 if you lost last time. You still make profit, even when you won only one bet and lost three bets. If you win, next bet is $10. You would bet double amount of last betting on the race that returns over double investment if you lost last time.

7.7 Strategy 7: Be Mindful of Some Tips

Racing is now beaming into the lounge rooms. Unfortunately, most of persons haven't got a clue of how to bet, let alone, what to bet on. So they follow tips of the “leaders” or "experts". They follow these self acclaimed "experts" on which horses to back. The trouble is that tips are usually delivered a number of hours before the time of the start of the race. But many factors may arise in those hours. When people follow tips to bet, the dividends are changed so much that it becomes unprofitable as the market changes and the dividends fall.

There was a time when you would find 80% of races throughout the day were of value, because there was an uninhibited market. Nowadays you get very short-priced horses, even in races like maiden races with 16 runners. They still find a "Sure Thing". When all the viewers follow their tips, then there is no value left in the race!

If you bet in races with a runner paying under $2 to win, you run the risk of losing more often. The favorite has a strike rate of about 28%. There are days when the rate is better. This is when fields are small. It is amazing how many times the number of runners in a horse race is similar to a dog race with only 4 to 8 runners. These races are the most risky to bet on.

All the self acclaimed "experts" live for these races as they can stick to the favorite and have a good chance of winning, however, in doing so, they kill the odds on that particular race.

It is why most persons don't make money!

For example, you had 20 bets for the day with 3 runners per race at a rate of 13 winners and 7 losses (65% win rate). You would have to get a winner of $7.00 on average to make $9.00 profit for the day.

You turn over a lot of money, but don't actually get anywhere. If you throw in a number of winners at around $2.00 or less, you make the TAB very happy because TAB is the only winner until you learn to punt like a professional.

7.8 Strategy 8: Box Trifectas

Allows your selections to finish first, second and third in any order. If you BOX three selections, you receive every combination of those three selections as 6 combinations (i.e. the investment cost totals $6 for a $1 unit invested).

7.8.1 TAB Numbers

In the case of Gallops, a horse's TAB number reflects, in most cases, the handicappers opinion of the horse's form. Considering these numbers, then, gives some interesting insights.

Winning TAB numbers - TAB number 1 is the most dominant number in Trifectas appearing in 40% of all Trifectas. TAB number 2 is next with 35%, number 3 with 33%, number 4 with 31%. The smaller the TAB number, the better your chances of getting a successful Trifecta collect.

Unsuccessful TAB numbers - The most unsuccessful TAB numbers to appear in Trifectas are numbers 14 and above, which combined, appear in less than 10% of all Trifectas. The bigger the TAB number the less your chances of getting a successful Trifecta collect.

Adding TAB numbers - Adding together the three TAB numbers in your Trifecta points to some interesting facts. Just over 50% of all winning Trifectas have a score of 15 or less when the three numbers are added together. Only 2% of winning Trifectas have a total score greater than 33. All you do is adding together the TAB numbers of your fancied Trifectas. It's fun and accurate.

7.8.2 the field should be less than 10.

The smaller the field is, the better it is chances of winning. Trifectas can be expressed in the same way.

7.8.3 the return should be more than 10 times of investment.

The smaller the dividend is, the better it is chances of winning.

The easiest way to work out the approximate Trifecta dividend is to simply multiply together the TAB win dividend of each runner in your Trifecta. For example, say three runners are showing TAB dividends of $2.40, $6.10 and $4.20. Your estimate of the Trifecta dividend will be $48.00, found by multiplying two by six by four. Just ignore the cents portion. It is simple and surprisingly accurate.

If you invest on Box Tri for the top 3 runners by $6 (e.g. $1 per unit), the return should be more than 10 times of investment, i.e. $60 (e.g. $3x$4x$5=$60). If you invest on Box Tri for the top 4 runners by $24, the return should be more than $240.

8.  Discussion

8.1 Trifectas

The user A said:

Is there anyway that you can monitor trifectas as per teletext? Or has anyone looked at trifecta selections based on the Win and Place pools?

The user B said:

I had great success using it for trifectas. ... I decided to use it for roving trifectas. Well the first three days turned $200 into $4000 and I was hooked. I really loved you DrHuang. Over the next month I won $9000. ... I love the program. It is just myself.

The user C said:

Can you please tell me more about this technique? How many selections is this based on? What exactly is a roving trifecta?

The user B said:

A roving TRI (trifecta) is when you back a horse in your tri to come 1-2-3 with however many other horses to place in any other order. It is an expensive way to bet, but when an outsider comes in, you really clean up. I think my mistake was, as you say, not setting a limit on a bad day and trying to regain on lots of races with only small fields, which means a lot of others also pick tri. I have a lot of ways of picking my betting horses, but the main one is the rover who must at least place. You see that is why your system helped, it is so hard to build a bank on places alone, but if you can consistently pick 50% places in a roving tri with a bit of luck and a good bank to start with! Who knows Dr. Like I said I had a few really good days and it just went to my head and then my pocket. It is hard to tell all the ways I pick the other horses, but I started by watching your program at the last minute to watch the late money come in at took the most money, including a rover for a 50 cent bet. One bet of $45 paid $2300 and it just blew me away. The hard part is which race do you bet on. I do not want you to tell other people about this without the fact that it is dangerous and expensive if not done the right way.

A ROVING TRI is, let us say you think, horse No. 1 has a good chance of a place and you also like No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. All you are doing is laying 3 different bets:

1. No. 1 to come 1st, No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 can be any order 2nd and 3rd.

2. No. 1 to come 2nd, No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 can be 1st or 3rd.

3. No. 1 to be 3rd, No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 can be 1st or 2nd.

(It means 3 bets: 1-2-3, 3-1-2, 2-3-1, for example.)

It is just a banker tri with your best pick in any place but if coarse it costs 3 times as much as a normal banker because you are using No. 1 as a rover to cover all places. This is why it can get a bit expensive because every race is 3 bets, but like I said when an outsider comes in 1st, an your favourite No. 1 is 2nd or 3rd, it can be quite a sum of money. What caught my eye first was the Dogs and Trots. For the size of the fields they have some really good tri pay outs when the outsiders come in, but I can't get them to work for me. So I have figured best bets to be horses with fields of 11 to 16 runners, no more no less. Best pay outs from what I can gather. What do you think?

The user D said:

I think the fields of 16 runners are too big. It is better that not more than 12.

The user A said:

This is just a standard multi-selection boxed trifecta, isn’t it ? What I am interested to know is how did you choose the selections.
Was it the top 4? Or your own choices plus the best selection from the program as your rover?

The user B said:

Please tell people to be very careful. It probably is as you say a multi-box tri. Every state seems to have their own terminology. The way I selected the bet was at the last minute on extreme right hand side of your screen you can see the late bets come in, sometimes it is so obvious some bastard has the inside info cause the bet money skyrockets in last minute other times it's not so obvious, but anyway I always had your 4 picks and then went down the screen and took the most money bet at last minute, then the next and next etc. until I was happy to spend that amount. Sometimes I would have a rover and almost the whole field and guess what. The mongrel horse I did not have came up so of course it became an expensive obsession. I always took the rover out of your 4, but not necessarily the 1st pick. Would check tips of the day, late mail, my own picks, etc., but always out of your 4. I've noticed that your 4 now very rarely have top money favourite. How come? Is it to do with better value for the win stake plan you are using or is it just the prediction system how it works? The best days that it seems to work are Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Like don't ask me why cause. I don't know and basically all I was doing was waiting for the outsider to do good. Trots seem to work to, but you have to put up with a lot of small dividends before you hit a good one. I do think that I should have been happy to sit on 6 or 7 horses because that is all I bet to get that first $4000 and then as you say bet a % each day, no good, walk away, but it is so bloody hard. See Ya.

8.2 Possible Profit Strategy

Try running the program for a few races and saving the results (File, Save, save as text file and convert to table with 15 columns in MS Word). I looked at the last few races yesterday after the footy (my team got done, bugger it), Ascot R4 to Toowoomba R7 and the stats are as follows: 7 races, 2x 1st picks, 2x 2nd picks, 2x 3rd picks, 1x wipeout. So if you had backed the top two picks in every race, the returns would have been $25.90 for a $14 outlay (SuperTab divs). I personally have followed this system for a couple of weeks and the top 2 picks average roughly 50% winners. Hope this helps.

8.3 Selective Place

The user A said:

I follow the following procedure in selecting the place.

1.    The race MUST fall within the program's criteria...that is all in the green.
2.    I monitor the race DIV from both VIC and NSW.
3.    The same horse must be selected in both states or is selected as the first in one state and second in the other.
4.    Only bet on place if selected as the first or second runner by the program. You can select the third or four but will lessen your strike rate.
5.    Never bet on place DIV less than $1.50, try to keep over $2.

Today was a very successful one with a 100% strike rate on places and a lot of them also were winning. I have attached the performance spreadsheet for your interest.

The user B said:

It is a good idea that the same horse must be selected in all states. In your RacePredictor Performance.xls, I noted you bet $100 on win and $100 on place of a race. If place div is $1.50 and you get the place only, you will lose money. May I suggest you should bet $30 on win and $70 on the place? If you get the place div $1.50 only, you still make $5 profit. The ratio of the Win to Place bet should be 3:7, instead of 5:5.

The user C said:

Currently horses only, no trots, no Saturdays, green pool NSW and Vic (ignore colour qld tab), total points
across 3 tabs, selection is top 3 or top 2.

For top 3, min return 175%, for top 2 only, min return 225%.  I'm still looking at a few fine tuning criteria but this seems to be quite stable. eg 180 events meeting 2 green pool criteria and 7 – 13 runners: Paper bet only, about 20% meeting 175% return criteria, success rate 80%. Very profitable.

Result for top 2 only is actually more profitable overall but also more losers (success rate around 55%) so the graph doesn't look as friendly - more dips.

10. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: When I start the program, why did I get "Logon Error: Invalid ID"?

A: The program needs to automatically logon to Internet server to run. So you should register with your software ID on top tile bar of the program, in order to set up your account.

Q: I had submitted my registration, why do I still get "Logon Error: Invalid ID"?

A: You will receive an email notice if your registration is accepted. It may take some time to process registration. Or firewall in your PC blocks the program connects to Internet. Please disable firewall for try, and then turn on firewall later.

Q: Why is the RUN menu inactive?

A: Because you have not register yet. After your registration is accepted, the Run menu becomes active.

Q: Why I cannot see any meeting?

A: Because it is in morning too early as it only shows races in 10 minutes before races start, or you are in different time zone.

Q: How can I get a race prediction?

A: Please read Chapter 5 Program Usage in this document or manual.

Q: When I click on a meeting on a list of races, why did I get "Run Time Error 91"?

A: Please download the latest version. The version includes a Windows system .dll file that is missing in some Windows operation systems to cause the program has “Runtime Error 91”.

Q: What operation systems can this program run on?

A: It can run on all 32-bit Windows operation systems, e.g. Windows 95/98/2000/NT/ME/XP.

Q: How can I reduce investment risk in racing?

A: This software is an investment program. It helps you to make decisions of investment in racing by reducing guess. This software utilizes Internet technology and expert system online real-time to track all the professional activity of the racing experts and actions of the professionals when they invest.

Q: How does this program work?

A: It automatically downloads live data from TAB, analyzes data by mathematical modeling, and predicts winner. Its data from TAB is online real-time live.

Q: How does it select a winner?

A: It follows not only money, but also every movement of dividend and market investment from 4 minutes to 30 seconds before races start.

Q: How can I make the best bet with this program?

A: Different people have different experiences. Some are in following steps:

     1. Follow Chapter 4.2 Adjusting Computer Time.

     2. Follow the Chapter 6. Criteria and 7. Strategies to find out the qualified races.

     3. Follow the bet dollar for top 4 runners on the Bet section.  The bet section shows 5 types of bets: win, Dutch, multi-places, place, and win + place. For example, multi–PLACE on some of top 4 runners if the multi-PLACE column show the dollar amount, or bet on the first top runner.

Q: Does this program predict UK or USA racing?

A: yes, any country that show in tab.com.au.

Q: Where can I get this program?

A: Download this software from the website http://www.DrHuang.com/race/race.zip.

Q: Does this program guarantee that I win every time?

A: No. This program helps you to make decisions of investment in racing, but does not bet for you. You make your own decision. You bet yourself. You test it before you pay for it. No claim is made that the program has any ability to consistently pick winners and make money for you. Like any other computer-racing program, it is the user that has to put in the effort and know-how to make it pay.

Q: What are the conditions for use of this program and membership?

A: The conditions are this document. When you use this program, you agree with the conditions to join the RacePrediction membership by payment of membership by default.

Q: If the program works, why do you sell it, instead of using it by yourself?

A: The more users, the more money. But limit to 100 users.

Q: Are there limit on the number of members? Why?

A: Yes, the numbers of members are limited to 100. Because when too many users bet the same runner, the dividend will drop.

Q: What are benefits of the membership?

A: Many benefits include live data, license to run the software, free upgrades of the software, and free support by email and/or phone. No support for the unpaid members.

Q: How much does this program cost?

A: The program is shareware, and costs $10. You also need the RacePrediction membership for live data. Your membership number or ID is your software ID that shows on the title bar of the top of the program. If your membership expired, your account will be cut. The fee to set up your account is $10. It is good idea that you renew your membership before it expires. Your membership fee is from 99 cents a day, cheaper than a newspaper.
